In July, 2018, the NGSS program completed a redefinition of scope, timeframe, and budget for Pennant Records and Pennant Aid. The consulting firm of Deloitte, which was already engaged with Office of Student Financial Services, was retained to bring to NGSS its expertise in deploying large-scale systems in higher-education settings.
A collaborative effort between Penn, Deloitte, and other valued partners, the re-planning identified the forces driving the program, established overall project and communications plans, assigned team resources, finalized system requirements, and mapped how work processes occur today across Schools and units and how they can improve in the future.
With re-planning completed, the program moves to the next phase – design. During the design phase, detailed future-state processes and workflows are created, the technical architecture design is confirmed, and specifications for coding are generated.
The program continues to be grateful to the many Penn employees from across the University who are contributing their time and talent to NGSS.
