In partnership with the program sponsors and University leadership, the NGSS program team has decided to delay the deployment of new Pennant systems by one year. Release 1 will now go live in August of 2021 and Release 2 will go live in March of 2022.
The NGSS program team knows this decision to delay the deployments is significant. Through this revised approach, however, the team can capitalize on existing project momentum while mitigating the extraordinary risk of hastily implementing a complex set of systems during these uncertain times.
One of the primary concerns the program team has heard from our partners in the Schools is the need for Schools/divisions to have practical access to the new systems once they are configured and populated with actual data. This is necessary for them to clearly understand how these systems will change advising, registration, and other tasks for their students, faculty, and staff. The decision to delay implementations will allow more time for more user testing and training, which will better equip staff and faculty to serve students.
